DUTCH ART MEETS ITALIAN DESIGN
AT BOFFI ROTTERDAM
During the Art Week in Rotterdam, which took place from 8 – 11 February, the Boffi showroom
organised a very special event. For this occasion they not only collaborated with Public House of Art,
but they also presented their newly integrated MA/U studio expo.
VITA DI LUSSO is of course very proud of the fact that Boffi is represented in The Netherlands
in such a stylish way. And next to that, during last year’s Salone, I met Dis Abhelakh,
who is the owner of both the showroom in Rotterdam and in Amstelveen.
So this was a very nice opportunity to catch up with him
and his new manager Charlie Esson!
For my first date with Boffi we have to go back to June 2017, which is not so long ago. That is why I have to speak of a very young love.
So in June, I was in Milan for an appointment with the outdoor label Paola Lenti, and able to find some time to visit the showroom of Boffi as well. Since I had an interview with Pierro Lissoni, who is the Art Director of several major Italian brands such as Boffi, I was very anxious to see and experience his designs for Boffi live in Milan. And so I did. And during that visit, I just could not stop thinking about the next Eurocucine and the fact that I definitely had to write an article about Boffi.
So you can imagine I was very happy when Boffi Rotterdam invited me to stop by during the Art Week and have a glass of Prosecco with them.
Dutch art meets Italian design
During the Salone I have seen many collaborations between the ‘Dutchies’ and the Italian sprout, grow and develop. One of the reasons why I launched VITA DI LUSSO! We just seem to ‘find’ each other in aesthetics, high quality and craftsmanship. Therefor I was not surprised at all that the alliance between Public House of Art and Boffi turned out to be very successful. The modern versions of Dutch Masterpainters like Vermeer matched perfectly with the innovative kitchen- and interior collection of Boffi.
Thus, after a few drinks, several inspiring talks and many photos taken, I can honestly say: dear Boffi, see you soon! Of course, I will keep you updated.
