Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that is spreading to almost every country in the world, the 2020 edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano has been suspended. The event will now take place from 13th to 18th April 2021. The 2021 edition, which will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Salone, will be a special event for the entire sector. TEFAF 2020; THE IMPACT OF ART ON THE NEXT GENERATION

What is the impact of art on the next generation? TEFAF kicked off the 2020 edition of this world famous art event with that question. Patrick van Maris, CEO of TEFAF, said:

This week our Wannahave is "Relighted Fire”. Relighted Fire (41 x 51 cm) is a painting made of watercolour on paper, made by Josephine de Jongh.
After 16 years working as a physician, nowadays Josephine de Jongh helps people write and bring out their personal life experience stories.
She organizes workshops regarding intuitive drawing, exposes her art and is the chairperson of the Ellamo Foundation. This Foundation aims to raise consciousness by bringing Films, Books and Positive News Broadcast to the attention.
Josephine started intuitive drawing and painting in 2015.
Intuitive art is a very direct way to express oneself and make the shift from the head to the heart. ‘Let it flow.’ The idea of intuitive art is to not plan anything in front, but to be open to what comes up in the moment. It’s a good way to reconnect with oneself, learn to trust on intuition, explore the ubconscious mind and experience joy, freedom and inner peace.

This week we show you a number of blown glass works by artist Antoon van Wijk. From this material he forms lively people and animal figures, sometimes with a nod to reality, but more often rich in fantasy and inspiration. Glass blowing is a fairly difficult technique that requires a lot of patience and talent. Sometimes Van Wijk even combines that with papier-mâché, as can be seen here with the great Dodo, which he showed last year during the pop-up exhibition 'Theater Des Arts'. It makes us smile.
