LOUIS POULSEN; SHAPING THE LIGHT
FOR MORE THAN A CENTURY
Louis Poulsen has always strived not only to design lighting, but also to shape the light
and thus create a pleasant atmosphere – both indoors and outdoors. The shape of the light defines a space
and the lighting should blend harmoniously with the space they create; indirect, soft and inviting.
They are always looking for the right balance between function and comfort, with which they give everyone
the opportunity to create the perfect atmosphere. That is their daily quest for more than a century.

THE HERITAGE OF POUL HENNINGSEN
The way in which Louis Poulsen shapes design and light can still be traced back to Poul Henningsen’s multi-screen system and his view on design and light. The shape of the products is not dictated by their appearance, but by the shape of the light they emit. The quality of the light determines and defines every surface and every curve. Their dedication to aesthetics makes Louis Poulsen’s products a feast for the eyes, regardless of whether they are on or off. The quality of the materials determines the quality of the experience they provide.

COLLABORATIONS WITH TOP DESIGNERS
Louis Poulsen works closely with architects, engineers and lighting designers. All top designers with whom complete projects are set up. Many of the light fixtures in the product range originated from those projects; lighting specifically designed to further optimize the project or the atmosphere and impression of a particular space. Many products have also proven to be very versatile and have therefore become standard products in the exclusive Louis Poulsen collection. The beautiful materials used are the embodiment of their design philosophy. They shape it so that they reflect and conceal, illuminate and absorb.

LEADING INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS
Louis Poulsen’s lamps can be admired all over the world. In Madrid, for example, the so-called Juana Limón Cafe in Madrid was enriched with the Louis Poulsen Cirque hanging lamp. The pastel colors of this fixture and the dynamic design fit perfectly within the interior of Juana Limón. And in Copenhagen you’ll find the Illum, where ‘Original Coffee’ is located between all the restaurants and cafes on the roof. There was a need for a lighting solution that would do justice to this prestigious location. The café was eventually lit with 26 black Toldbod pendant lamps by Louis Poulsen, and four Toldbod wall luminaires.
